"I am writing to express my satisfaction with the chamber blocking devices,
CBD M-1's, that I received from Chamber Safe.  I have spent many years as a
Primary Marksmanship Instructor within the Marine Corps as well as a
Firearms Instructor for my police department here in the Kansas City Metro.

When conducting a range, the CBD M-1 allows for the instant, visual
confirmation, of an empty rifle chamber .  The instructor gains safety
while the shooter gains  the peace of mind in knowing that the additional
safety can be swiftly defeated, allowing for instant manipulation and
service from the same rifle.

There are quite possibly hundreds of firearms safety devices available. In
the military we use what's know as a "flag" safety.   To remove
the flag safety is a two hand operation, however, with the CBD M-1, the
operator can remove the device by simply grasping the ring and pulling it
out of the chamber. Speed creates time and as the old saying goes, time is
the first thing you run out of in a gun fight.

I feel cables and ropes passed through the ejection port are cumbersome,
timely and less reliable then the CBD M-1. Combination locks, locking
sleeves, magazine locks, and trigger blocks may have their uses for storage
and transportation, but are clearly not appropriate for an on-range use
where paramount  safety and instant serviceability are absolute
requirements.

I don't know if it was by design or accident , but I found that because the
body of the CBD M-1 is a circular pull ring, it allows the device to be
retained by a limitless combination of hanging, placing, snapping, sliding
and tying.  I also like the attached tab that provides an area to mark
ownership.

In an occupational field that is inundated daily with "high speed" must
haves, I'm glad to buy a product that is truly what it advertises safe. "

"Being involved in the firearms industry almost thirty years I have seen many products come and go. The Chamber Blocking Device is the newest product to hit the market for visually allowing someone to see a gun is safe and empty. While primarily designed for the AR – 15 system, in can be utilized on other guns.
I first saw this device in an AR – 15 class in which I was an assistant instructor. In the classes we used to use the “licorice stick” (red colored rope sticks). The problem with these is the chance of someone allowing the bolt to go forward rapidly, causing bits of nylon to get caught in the bolt face.
With the CBD you eliminate the problem.
The design of the CBD allows the user to have a magazine in the gun but not have a chambered round. A quick pull on the ring of the CBD removes it and the officer then chambers a round and is prepared for the situation.
Another problem we had with the licorice sticks in the classes was the officers not being able to find them or dropping them on the range. With the CBD an officer can hook the CBD on his shooting muff holder or their key ring. It is easily found and re-inserted into the gun when the officer has decided it is appropriate or has been instructed.
I think the CBD is a great, inexpensive way for range officers or agencies to allow them a quick visual check to see that they have a safe and empty gun."
